CAINS HEADS STATESIDE IN EXPORT BID

Liverpool brewer Cains is taking its award winning Export Lager to the biggest beer trade show in America in a bid to crack the US.

The National Beer Wholesalers’ Association convention is held at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas later this month when some of the most powerful players from the US beer industry get together.

This year’s convention, which attracts over 3,000 wholesalers, offers Cains a huge showcase opportunity to begin exporting to a nation already in love with the history and culture of Liverpool.

Cains joint managing director Sudarghara Dusanj, believes that the show could represent a fantastic new chapter for the historic brand.

He said: “Cains is already immensely popular with American tourists who visit the city and we are looking to reach into a market where craft beers are well established and highly regarded.

“We have been liaising with UK Trade and Industry (UKTI) regarding exporting our products and Cains Export Lager has been developed specifically with international markets in mind, in terms of packaging, ABV and design.

“Lager is the product we have chosen to promote because we believe it offers a refreshing alternative to the traditional ales and bitters typically exported from the UK.

“We will obviously be promoting the lager alongside the Liverpool which Americans are familiar with – the home of The Beatles and an historic port with strong connections to the US.”

Just a small percentage of such a vast export market could represent a significant new revenue stream for Cains, which is also exploring markets throughout continental Europe.
